Relaxed • Casual • Fresh

It’s been an exciting and emotional journey since we opened the doors in March 2012.

For the past 27 months we strived to provide a casual, relaxed and friendly atmosphere for all our guests – whether they’ve joined us for a long, romantic dinner in our restaurant or simply for a beer in our sunny garden.

We sought out new products for our customers to enjoy: we were proud to be the very first Bath stockist of Norcott’s wonderful fruit ciders. We have a seasonally changing range of exciting ales from Bristol Beer Factory, and our Belgian imports from Palm Breweries are like nothing else you could find on draught in the city. We are one of only a handful of bars in the country selected to pour Stella Artois Black, which you can find alongside Dark Side and previously Bounders from the local brewery Bath Ales. It may not have been obvious at first glance but everything we offer has been given thought and consideration in order to build up a varied range that everyone can enjoy.

We love local businesses: our butcher is just around the corner and they deliver their top quality meat to us daily, from which we make our own famous burgers on site every day (and the recipe remains a secret!). Our greengrocer brings us the freshest fruit and veg six days a week, every week, throughout the year. Every couple of months our chefs get together to devise a new menu, making sure to tailor it season by season: during the summer months we’d offer sharing boards and crisp salads, over the colder periods we’d fix some hearty homemade soups and hand made pies with mashed potato.

The famous Lincoln/Lydgate quote rings true in any business, but we always try to improve and work hard to make sure we never made the same mistake twice. We feel this is how to make progress and were always open to suggestions and feedback, both positive and negative. In this we feel we succeeded.

Now the time has come to close our doors. Our last day of trading will be Sunday the 22nd of June, and at 5pm we will shut for the last time. The Sawclose area we are located in is being redeveloped and we are to make way for a casino and a hotel. We’d just like to thank everyone who supported us over the past couple of years, whether you were a regular customer or if you simply stopped by for a quick coffee. Every single guest of ours is valued.

Please, support local and independent businesses. Bath is a vibrant and varied city and we’d like to keep it that way.

We hope to see you all again soon.
